Najib Brings Hope, Amidst A Small Hiccup And Immediately Faces A Global Challenge...

Malaysians of all walks of life, with the exception of some 81 Opposition MPs and less than 6,000 petite-tioners, heaved a huge sigh of relief today at the arrival of our much awaited new Prime Minister, DS Najib Tun Razak, as the new steward of the nation's well-being. Seeing as how bad things have been over the last few years, just having someone new brings new hope to the country as we face the effects of the global financial meltdown with a more credible leader at the helm.

Nevertheless, the day has not been perfect. I join the chorus of many Malaysians who question the credibility of awarding the SSM or 'Tun' title to Pak Lah's wife, Jeanne Abdullah. We're polite enough to accept Pak Lah being awarded a Tun, but Jeanne? Hendon would have been far more deserving, what with her charitable foundations and Batik advocacy surviving even her death, but Jeanne? Is it not enough for her to be a Toh Puan? Hiccup... ho hum...

Anyway, I am sure that would be a small matter not of consequence to DS Najib in his first day in office. DS Najib not only inherits a mess at the 'Fifth Floor', but also needs to secure the return of Tun Dr M and his stalwarts (including my Ayah) as part of the effort to rejuvenate UMNO. We are already planning a trip to Bkt Selambau on Monday in anticipation of this leading to significant wins at the by-elections under Najib's new leadership...

And challenges keep on coming. It is just so like the West to spoil things when hope returns to Malaysia. Out of all the tax havens in the world that they could have blacklisted, including the Caymans and Jersey, all under British 'protection', the G-20 chose to blacklist Labuan instead! LABUAN! Which by the way is an 'Islamic' 'tax haven'. Some sort of warning, is it? By the way, I thought the West's financial meltdown was because of poor governance, not Tax Havens!?

In any case, all the best DS Najib. It was never going to be easy... but we stand ready to assist...

'...with th exception of 81 Opposition MPs.."

Suely you jest! What is it with you Umnophiles that you can't see how much UMNO lost in GE 2008. You will continue to be in a state of denial at your own peril.

If you take out Sarawak & Sabah, where is your majority?
