Pak Lah's Contribution To The English Language?

I got this from a friend and was immediately impressed:

There are possible plans underway to apply to the Oxford and Webster Dictionaries to include a new word for their 2009 edition:
Badawi
(baa-daa-wee) {noun} : To start something full of promise but end in disappointment, failure and/or disaster.
e.g. 1: I'm trusting you to perform this task well; don't do a badawi, ok?
e.g. 2: France badawied their Euro 2008 campaign. England pre-badawied theirs, whilst Italy was guilty of over-badawification!

Surely after Pak Lah's 'Badawying' of Malaysia's democracy and the 'badawification' of our economy, it is only fitting that his achievements be immortalised in this way. Best also that it be shared for all English speaking peoples, at least as a warning against a future with any badawis...

Kluangman, pergi baca utusan malaysia dan new strait times. Jangan tunjuk pandai sini. Berlagak macam dia sorang ajalah cerdik akal. Pooooorah.

I am no fan/ supporter at all of PM but you friend’s joke may not be well appreciated by Muslims locally and world wide.

I realize after going through the net that there are many prominent personalities with the root word “Badawi” (such as Ahmed Badawi, the Project Director (Israel/Palestine) for ORG’s, the Saudi Badawi Group, Dr. Radwan Badawi –a dermatologist etc including perhaps thousands of ordinary Muslims with that name).

I can’t find the meaning of the word Badawi in the net but since it is quite widely used, I am sure there is some good meaning in the Arabic dictionary/ world. As such, the immortalization of the root word as you proposed should remain just as a joke and no more. If you change the root word to “Bodohwi” which has no meaning, it’s of no consequence.

I have 5 kids and each time they were born, I had to search a Muslim name (and their accompanying meaning and correct spelling) for each of them which I could be comfortable with. I am also proud of the unique name (and of its meaning) my father gave me. As such I do not look kindly on any attempts to wrongfully portray the meaning of any root word of a Muslim Arab name.

I hope you appreciate my good intentions; we should not stoop to that same level as PM even though we dislike/ hate him that vigorously.

Muhasabah diri sendiri lah kluangman. Tak payah nak nasihat orang seolah-olah awak saja yang pandai. Berlagak pandai sombong.

Before anyone gets the wrong impression, I had to delete a couple of repeat comments by the commentor 'paklah'.

Kluangman and whackthembugger. Thank you for your comments and legitimate view that perhaps I go too far with this posting. However, the context I have put this forth is certainly in jest, and not meant to insult anyone other than the obviously deserving.

On the matter of this being personal, this has become personal a long time ago, even before my Ayah got sacked. That Sanusi Junid got sacked was a personal tragedy to some, a major one to others, but Pak Lah has committed far larger crimes to my person well before this.

In the first place, he introduced the deviant Islam Hadhari. This is very personal. The man is stuffing up my religion man, how more personal does it get?! So am I not to take it as a personal affront that my children or grandchildren risk becoming deviants unable to see me in the hereafter? (Assuming I end up OK I hope!)

Then Pak Lah screws around with the economy. I as badly hit as others, but every 0.5% BLR hike is money out of my pocket. Every cent of subsidy cut to save his freinds and family's projects hurts my family directly. The guy is driving individual Malaysians into poverty by his nonsense! Is this not personal?

So yes, I am getting personal with Pak Lah. As should every other Malaysian. We all should get personal with Pak Lah as he is being personal, not professional, about his job.

Besides, this is politics, and for an activitist, it's always personal...

Contoh pertama, Pak Lah memperkenalkan ajaran sesat Islam Hadhari.

Kemudian Pak Lah memperosakkan ekonomi.
