Percaturan Politik Punca Pembatalan MAYC?

Tarikh 7 Julai 2012 seharusnya tercacat sebagai tarikh berkat bagi Persatuan Kelab-Kelab Belia Malaysia (MAYC) Kebangsaan. Pada tarikh tersebut, sebuah Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan yang menyatukan semula MAYC seharusnya dilangsungkan. Malangnya, rentetan penghancuran budaya Belia MAYC yang berlanjutan sejak tahun 2002 demi kepentingan politik individu, Mesyuarat Agung tersebut mungkin sekali akan membawa MAYC ke ambang pembatalan sebagai sebuah organisasi.

Kisah bagaimana sebuah organisasi yang dikagumi pada penghujung abad lepas, tapak latihan kemimpinan hebat tokoh seagung Tun Dr Mahathir dan pembangunan jutaan warga Belia sejak sebelum Merdeka boleh kini bakal punah sama-sekali akan jurublog rekodkan di sini dengan harapan ia dapat dielakkan menjelang 7 Julai 2012 kelak.

Rencana DS Shabery Cheek

Pada bulan Oktober lepas, DS Shabery Cheek telah memutuskan untuk menyelamatkan MAYC dari pembatalan melalui sepucuk surat yang dengan jelas memberi garis-panduan menuju perpaduan:

1 - Kepimpinan MAYC diserahkan ke tangan Jawatankuasa pilihan TS Syed Hamid Albar yg dipilih pada Mesyuarat Agung bertarikh 26 September 2010. Ini berniat menyejukkan hati para penyokong TS Syed Hamid Albar serta anak-anak buahnya.

2 - Penyerahan kuasa tersebut bersyaratkan MAYC Kebangsaan mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan yang baru menjelang bulan Mac 2012. Mesyuarat Agung tersebut disyaratkan juga wajib menyatu-padukan kembali kedua pihak yang berbalah.

Syarat diadakan Mesyuarat Agung tersebut berniat memuaskan hati pihak lagi satu yang dipimpin barisan Pengerusi-Pengerusi Negeri, Kawasan serta ahli Jawatankuasa Pro-tem pimpinan YB Suraya Yaacob, termasuklah jurublog, anak bekas Presiden MAYC sebelum TS Syed Hamid, iaitu TS Sanusi Junid. Ia juga berdasarkan kesedaran DS Shabery yang dengan menyegerakan peralihan kepimpinan MAYC, generasi baru akan berupaya ke hadapan tanpa gangguan berterusan hasil perbalahan orang-orang lama MAYC.

3 - Untuk menjamin kepatuhan kepimpinan MAYC dibawah kePresidenan Mustaffa Mat Arof, disertakan syarat bahawa sekiranya Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan dan penyatuan MAYC Kebangsaan tidak diadakan menjelang Mac 2012, MAYC Kebangsaan pasti terbatal.

Mustaffa Ingkar Menteri Bermodalkan Jajaan Nama Perdana Menteri

Malangnya, Mustaffa telah mengingkari arahan DS Shabery, bukan sekadar dengan menunda Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan MAYC tetapi dengan memerangi secara berterus-terusan para Pengerusi Negeri serta Kawasan yang dahulunya berbalah dengan beliau sebagai pilihan TS Syed Hamid Albar dan kuncu-kuncunya seperti Datuk Zaini Ahmad, Tuan Syed Rahman Tuan Kuning serta Tuan Hashim.

Mustaffa melakukan pengingkaran beliau terhadap arahan DS Shabery dengan bermodalkan kedudukan beliau sebagai seorang Naib Ketua Pemuda Bahagian di Pahang yang kononnya rapat dengan pejabat Perdana Menteri, termasuklah Setiausaha Politik DS Najib, Datuk Sahlan serta YB Norol Azali, Naib Ketua Bahagian Bera. Sesungguhnya, kemungkinan besar DS Najib sendiri tidak tahu-menahu tentang tindak-tanduk Mustaffa, cuma sekadar ditunggang nama baiknya.

Maka Mustaffa ke hulu-hilir menjaja ide yang MAYC Kebangsaan setuju menunda Mesyuarat Agung Pemilihan sehingga selepas PRU 13. Ini dilakukannya tanpa adanya apa-apa usul pun yang dicadangkan apatah lagi diluluskan untuk menunda Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan 2012 tersebut pada Mesyuarat Agung tahunan MAYC pada Disember 2011. Pihak KBS, dan pasti juga pejabat Perdana Menteri juga tidak pernah meminda arahan DS Shabery tersebut.

Tetapi kenapakah Mustaffa begitu beria-ia melakukan demikian? Ini tidak lain kerana beliau berharap dengan kedudukan Presiden MAYC Kebangsaan ditangannya, beliau akan berjaya merebut tempat sebagai calon Wakil Rakyat Parlimen Jerantut menggantikan Ketua Bahagianna, YBM Tunku Azlan, pada PRU 13. Sesungguhnya kepentingan politik yang dikejarnya terbukti dengan kempen blog yang dilancarkan teman-temannya di Jerantut sejurus beliau disahkan Presiden MAYC Kebangsaan.

Bukan Mustaffa Pemula Budaya Menunggang MAYC Ke Jawatan Politik

Malah bukan Mustaffa seorang sahaja yang menunggang kedudukannya di MAYC untuk mencapai sasaran politik. Ada juga pemimpin lain dalam barisannya yang berlaku demikian. Tetapi Mustaffa bukanlah pemula budaya menunggang MAYC ke jawatan politik. Tokoh yang memulakan budaya ini tak lain dari Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar.

Ramai pemerhati bersalah anggap apabila melihat TS Syed Hamid Albar maju dalam politik pada era Tun Dr Mahathir. Ramai menyangkakan yang ini kerana legasi ayahanda beliau sebagai bekas Ketua Pemuda UMNO. Samalah juga ramai berfikir beliau orang Johor kerana menjadi ahli Parlimen Kota Tinggi sekian lama, beliau sebenarnya orang Pulau Pinang. Sebenarnya, TS Syed Hamid diangkat ke kedudukan Menteri atau saranan TS Sanusi Junid kepada Tun Dr Mahathir agar seorang lagi pemimpin MAYC diberi peluang menyertai kabinetnya.

Malah, TS Syed Hamid yang tak jauh umur dari TS Sanusi menyedari perkara ini apabila memohon peluang menggantikan TS Sanusi sebagai Presiden pada tahun 2000. Beliau telah mengakui pada masa itu bahawa kedudukannya sebagai Presiden MAYC demi mengekalkan kedudukan politiknya. Oleh kerana mereka masih berkawan pada masa itu, TS Sanusi telah bersetuju. TS Syed Hamid Mempermainkan Mesyuarat Agung Demi Mengekalkan Kuasa

Usaha mengekalkan MAYC sebagai tunggangan politik beliaulah di sebalik pembatalan pencalonan DS Zahid Hamidi dengan pembatalan pendaftaran MAYC Negeri Perak dan Negeri Johor pada Mesyuarat Agung MAYC Kebangsaan tahun 2012. Ini juga di sebalik penundaan Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan 2004 kemudian kejadian baling kerusi pada Mesyuarat Agung pemilihan 2005 apabila TS Syed Hamid dicabar Naib Ketua MAYC Kawasan Jerantut, Mustaffa Mat Arof! Ini jugalah sebab kenapa MAYC Kebangsaan pimpinan TS Syed Hamid tidak mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung selama 5 tahun selepas tahun 2005.

Pak Lah sendiri apabila ditanya kenapakah TS Syed Hamid kekal dalam kabinet beliau pada masa beliau Perdana Menteri mengakui TS Syed Hamid dipilih kerana beliau masih Presiden MAYC Kebangsaan pada masa itu. Ramai yang tidak tahu yang kekalnya jawatan TS Syed Hamid adalah melalui salah-laku pengurusan Mesyuarat Agung MAYC Kebangsaan. Jelas jugalah Mustaffa telah menerima pengajaran ini dari TS Syed Hamid serta kuncu-kuncunya.

Tetapi adakah kepentingan serta tunggangan politik sahaja yang menjadi punca merudum hingga ke ambang pembatalan MAYC? Tidak sama-sekali. Malah isu harta MAYC Kebangsaan juga tak boleh dilupakan dan inilah juga antara sebab pokok kenapa jurublog serta 'tim'nya ditolak oleh kuncu-kuncu TS Syed Hamid sebagai pengganti kepimpinan. Kisah ini bersambung dengan perebutan harta tersebut.

Introducing Nyanyak's Aces!

Today is a big day! OK, it is already a big day being one of this blogger's son's 8th birthday. However the same son woke this bloggers up early this morning declaring he wants to go for his first gift, a chess tournament today, where for the first time we will contest as a family team!

The photo above showcases the team as it stands now, with this blogger as team Manager and 'all-round' Ayah! The team's name, Nyanyak's Aces, is in honour of the all sacrificing Nyanyak of course! She has had to stay home to take care of our 'pelapis', but will join us for lunch.

Not sure if we would win anything, but we looked smug in the photo as at least we know we won't be last having won that (second) round. Points will be hard to come by after this with so many strong players! And the team manager sees this as a big day being the first Chess Tournament I've played in after some 27 years!

Hope I don't drag my kids down!

TSUNAMI ALERT AGAIN IN ACHEH

An 8.6-8.7 richter earthquake struck off the west coast of North Sumatra estimate at around 16.37 hours Malaysia time. This blogger was alerted of tremors from as far as Pasir Salak, Perak where residents felt the ground shift. The lastest news from Acheh indicate residents fully aware of the risk leaving coastal areas for higher ground to avoid the risk of a repeat of the 2004 tsunami which left around half-a-million Achehnese dead.

Whilst Malaysians enjoy the remainder of our holiday celebrating the installation of our new Agong, please lend a thought for those neighbours of ours who may be facing tougher realities and challenges as we speak. A doa too all affected. And should the need arise, may Malaysians once again show our exemplary traits of giving and sacrifice for those in need, such as repeatedly shown over these many years.

The False Redemption Of Shahrizat Jalil

The NFC Saga continues its damage of UMNO and BN's chances of securing a convincing win in the coming General Election despite the departure of DS Shahrizat Jalil from her cabinet post. Even Rafizi Ramli, the unlikely whistleblower of the scandal, acknowledges this through his gleeful tweets over the course of the weekend - if Shahrizat's departure was to bring the NFC scandal to a close, Rafizi's behavior would have been more subdued.

Some weeks ago this blogger blogged on how the NFC, and substantially the complicity of Shahrizat as a Cabinet member and UMNO Wanita Chief in the wrong-doings, would have an effect on the General Election. One may imagine that with Shahrizat no longer being in the cabinet that the matter is resolved, but truly it is not. As the issue of credibility remains a stain unerased, just as Shahrizat is not really out of the corridors of power.

The salient point that needs to be discussed first is, does Shahrizat remaining as Wanita Chief affect its capability to deliver votes in the coming PRU13? Answers this blogger gained from 2 separate government agencies is that it has a very negative impact on Wanita's effectiveness as a critical component of BN's election machinery. As with its leader seen as being so morally bankrupt, Wanita losses its credibility.

In fact, Wanita risks not just losing its credibility, but also its unity, as pro and anti-Shahrizat factions jostle around the future of their disgraced Chief. And with loss of unity, Wanita will surely disintegrate into parts of which the sum of cannot compare to the sheer effectiveness of a one united party wing. Indeed, Wanita UMNO may even struggle with the question of relevance of Shahrizat's continued leadership is allowed to further stain its reputation.

The reality is that Shahrizat may have been spared any suspicion even if her husband was not simply accused but was then successfully prosecuted for Criminal Breach of Trust in the handling of the NFC initiative. Many, even world leaders, have suffered errant husbands in the past. Even when it is revealed she did not block the involvement of her children as paid managers of NFC, Shahrizat could still have been painted with a shade innocence.

However, any illusion of innocence was completely shattered when she used her highest party platform, the 2011 Annual General Assembly of Wanita UMNO, to defend her husband and children and their suspected corruption of the NFC. It was said that her defence was so emotional, that she could not finish more than half of the prepared text, or more importantly, failed to convey the priorities of Wanita UMNO coming into a likely election year.

So Shahrizat over the course of one UMNO AGM speech, personified all that is wrong about the party today. She showcased how the power and position afforded to her by the party could and was willingly used to defend and perhaps indeed enhance private interests. And in her selfishness which is more reflective of a lioness protecting her cubs than a leader staying above the fray, she pushed Wanita to the edge of a precipice, where it remains.

So many lauded Shahrizat's announcement that she was 'withdrawing' from her Cabinet post some weeks ago. This was of course Shahrizat at her politically most cunning, where she pre-empts being naturally 'dropped' from her post when her Senate tenure was up, allowing her then to attempt to selfishly cling to the more important Wanita UMNO Chief post. And so she clings on with claws that tear fresh wounds into Wanita.

However, it is not the population of pre-independence Malaya that Shahrizat is trying to convince that she is redeemed with her fake 'withdrawal'. Almost every educated person this blogger met following the news expressed disgust at how Shahrizat's 'withdrawal' was lauded by even the TPM as a 'sacrifice' - it was probably one of the worst pieces of media-spinning since the Pulau Batu Putih win-win nonsense! All EXPECTED Shahrizat to be dropped anyway.

That DS Najib as Prime Minister was compelled to take on the Women Affairs Family and Community Development Ministry rather than appoint another Wanita leader to the post is testament to how dire things look for Wanita UMNO now. Battle lines are clearly drawn with unity being threatened, with Shahrizat accusing those who simply want her to do the right thing; i.e. resign. But Shahrizat doesn't dare to resign, as in the end, she's no leader.

If Shahrizat was a true leader, she would do the right thing without the asking. She would have resigned the moment she saw that, as evident to everyone else, something was wrong with the way the NFC was run. In fact, if she was a leader she may even have asked her husband to stay away from the NFC. Certainly as a leader and a responsible mother, she should have kept her children well away from the NFC, which is NOT a family concern!

Well, as it should be abundantly clear to Wanita that it doesn't really have a Leader as its current Chief, rather than suffer further and longer to the point of obliteration due to 'Shahrizat's False Redemption', its true leaders should step up and shove Shahrizat out! The Wanita exco can certainly call for a no-confidence vote, and should do so before someone in the Supreme Council musters the guts to do so. It is the right thing to do.

For in the absence of a true Leader as its Chief, Wanita has to move quickly to redeem itself among its stakeholders, especially all the women that are its constituents in the electorate. It is the right thing to do. And that is what Leaders are chosen to do, to DO THE RIGHT THING.

Investment Choices: Kids' Activities! 1Malaysia Too!

Chess weekends coming fast and furious over the weekends of April, beginning yesterday as March closes actually! My two elder sons r on the final Swiss round of the KL Scholastic where a lower turnout than expected by organisers is compensated by the appearance of some 40% of 'new faces'!

No surprise that numbers of circuit 'regulars' are down as mothers and even kids reprioritise. My son's regular sparring partner had to go to Maths tuition after weeks of missing and even my daughter had to favour Tunas Puteri this weekend in order to get her 'Calit Emas'.

A few observations here. One is on how parents will see the choices to invest their own and their kids' time presenting increased challenges over time. Sure, if a child displays extraordinary talent, choices become obvious, but for the common parent, it is the toil, time and money that will help grow their child's abilities.

One would also think that choices favouring academics are also obvious, but really, they are not always so. Lets say your child has a chance to become a state player then perhaps even play internationally, many parents would allow the skipping of classes and tuition surely.

Another observation today was how 1Malaysia the Chess tourney looked. Having been used to a Chess field being so predominated by Chinese players, it seemed that a more 1Malaysia mix seen at the venue, ironically being Asrama 1Malaysia at Titiwangsa. A slightly Chinese majority still, but a better mix.

The Third Force Arises In Malaysian Politics

I have been speaking with many, again, about the possibility of a 'Third Force' arising in Malaysian politics, but with little personal conviction. Tonight I see such a force actually coming together as a culmination of the dedicated effort of 2 friends with a smile.

Perhaps what we need is a different view as to what constitutes such a 'Third Force'. Tonight we see it bring together a political legend and a new generation of those who care in both old and new media. Tonight, Teh Tarik Bersama YB comes of age...

24 Hours In Kuching; Food, Work And Politics Abound!

I was in Kuching on a slightly more than 24 hour visit on company business last week. One great thing about being in the Retail business is the food culture that you could immerse yourself in as part of work! Actually, anytime also can makan la, but the obese need excuses...

The above green house, known literally as Rumah Hijau, is a Cafe where we had lunch at, enjoying a nasi lemak Ayam Penyek, followed by Roti Pisang Coklat, hence having a taste of both Malay and Neo-Indian cuisine in Kuching. l already had my Laksa Sarawak fix for Breakfast and was 'forced' to enjoy a variety of barbecued meats at the Carvery at Abel Hotel the night before! I was well and assuredly stuffed even before the seafood dinner (with sayur bilin) that was my send off!

In the midst of all this food, and of course quite a bit of work, I did discover that TMI's Jahabar Sadiq was also wrong in his shortlist of items troubling DS Najib Tun Razak into postponing PRU13. He forgot the Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud departure, or rather continued hold on power, issue! This is very much in the forefront of many Sarawakian minds and with the 'fixed deposit' potentially already 8 Parliamentary seats short, should this not be a worry?

(Actually, I was also surprised that Jahabar's list was so short with 5 items... and with one item being not too important really to the common electorate. Perhaps further evidence of his writting being conjecture more than insider!)

One would have hoped with his 'Besan' or In-Law, Tan Sri George Chan's departure from the leadership of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) that PS Taib would busy planning a cruise with his old school-chum. Unfortunately, PS Taib is instead rumoured to have been meddling in the SUPP elections, not favouring current President DS Peter Chin, and then rumpured to be active in 'other ways' too. Maybe it's the new wife?

Anyway, it was a good, fruitful, 24 hour trip...

The KL And Malaysian Chess Community

This blogger is on the morning shift today with kids at the regular Insofar meet in KL. The system is cool in that it pits players across all ages whilst awarding prizes by age and other groups. It also has a scheme to encourage kids to continue tournament play with a 'scholarship' that pays for playing beyond a first few tourneys.

But what moved me to blog on today wasn't the program but my joy at seeing my kids joining the vibrant community of Chess players in the country. Whilst still very much centred around their school, they have progressively become tournament regulars around KL, such that even my standard 2 boy was familiarly greeted by an adult upon registration.

The space for growth of Chess has transcended beyond the schools system and the formal Youth & Sports Ministry setup, with enthusiasts and players finding interested sponsors for significant events. Nevertheless, a common thread of quality and merit unites the community, as games translate to where one sits in the national ranking.

It is amazing how much can go wrong with a sport in Malaysia. Our underperforming football team, such that recent regional successes were inordinately celebrated, and now troublingly shallow pool of successors to Datuk LCW are the more obvious examples. However, with Chess, I at least see value in the community keeping the game as it should be in Malaysia.

Malaysia Youth Empowered By Tsunami In Japan

Alhamdulillah, my short piece on MAYC Global Relief's efforts in Ishinomaki last October was published in Utusan Malaysia on Thursday with relatively minor truncations for brevity, which nevertheless did deliver the majority of the message intended. I am hence posting my full submission below as much for the record as to ensure the entire message does appear in some media in complete form; e.g. one of the quotes was from a non-Malay participant of the team, which showcases MAYC as still being 1Malaysia in nature.

Antara tanggungjawab utama mana-mana pemimpin organisasi belia adalah melaksanakan program membina jati-diri, mengasuh nilai-nilai murni seperti budipekerti dan mendedahkan golongan muda kepada ilmu serta pengalaman yang tak dapat dikecapi dengan usaha peribadi.

Pada 16 October tahun lepas, 20 belia sukarelawan dari kelab-kelab gabungan MAYC seluruh negara telah ke Jepun untuk menyertai kerja-kerja pemulihan pasca tsunami yang melanda pesisir Timur Laut pulau Honshu pada 11 March 2011. Pemergian mereka ke Jepun selama 10 hari adalah hasil kerjasama MAYC Global Relief bersama rakan NGO kami di Jepun, Peace Boat.

Sepanjang masa di Jepun, para sukarelawan Malaysia bertindak bukan sekadar tenaga-kerja tugas pemulihan, tetapi juga secara langsung mengharumkan nama baik negara sambil menaikkan semangat para penduduk setempat yang melihat golongan belia dari negara asing pun sedia berganding bahu membantu mereka dalam usaha baik-pulih, walau 7 bulan sudah berlalu sejak bencana melanda.

Kenapa MAYC Global Relief Ke Jepun

Bencana kekadang melanda di setiap penjuru dunia dan lazimnya, sukarelawan dari Malaysia menumpukan usaha dan sumbangan pemulihan ke negara-negara membangun atau serantau. Contohnya, apabila berlaku tsunami di Acheh, Indonesia dan bencana banjir di Thailand, sukarelawan Malaysia dilaung sebagai antara kumpulan sukarelawan dari luar negara bencana yang pertama sampai serta terserlah keikhlasan menyumbang dalam usaha pemulihan.

Namun MAYC Global Relief memilih untuk menghantar sukarelawan ke Jepun, sebuah negara yang lebih maju dari segi teknologi mahupun ekonominya berbanding negara kita. Sebagai pemimpin belia, ini kami laksanakan atas dasar memupuk nilai membalas budi dengan mengirim tenaga-kerja seberapa mampu kepada sebuah negara dan masyarakat yang amnya telah banyak menyumbang kepada pembangunan negara kita dari sejak Malaya merdeka lagi.

Kebetulan juga, negara Jepun sebagai sebuah negara yang kaya serta maju teknologinya, walaupun ditimpa bencana, ia tidak memerlukan apa-apa sumbangan peralatan mahupun kewangan untuk membaik-pulih kawasan yang dilanda tsunami. Malah, jemputan untuk melabur ke kawasan tersebut yang dilaporkan mediamasa tempohari juga lebih untuk mempercepatkan pembangunan semula. Tetapi apa mereka benar-benar kekurangan adalah tenaga-kerja belia untuk melaksanakan kerja-kerja yang sudah pun dikenal-pasti.

Sesungguhnya kepada warga MAYC, sumbangan negara-bangsa Jepun menjangkau lebih dari apa yang dikecapi oleh rakyat Malaysia amnya hasil dari pelaburan ekonomi mahupun perpindahan teknologi dari syarikat-syarikat terkemuka negara tersebut. Sejak mantan Naib Presiden MAYC, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, mengemukakan Dasar Pandang Ke Timur sebagai salah satu dasar pembangunan negara, MAYC telah menerapkan nilai Bushido kepada ahli-ahlinya melalui pendekatan MENJAROH.

MENJAROH, atau pendekatan MENtal, JAsad dan ROH, menerapkan ciri-ciri Amanah, Berani, Disiplin, Rajin serta Setia dalam program-program belia yang merangkumi aspek-aspek politik, ekonomi dan masyarakat. Ke lima-lima ciri ini seiras dengan pembawaan Bushido yang diterapkan ke seluruh masyarakat Jepun dari zaman, pra-Sengoku Jidai, yakni hampir 10 abad yang lepas, hinggalah ke sekarang, menerusi prinsip-prinsip koprat syarikat-syarikat gergasi seperti Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Sumitomo dan sebagainya.

Maka budi yang dibalas oleh para sukarelawan MAYC Global Relief di kawasan tsunami adalah dari jasa penerapan nilai jati-diri organisasi belia kami sendiri sepanjang lebih 3 dekad lamanya. Pada masa yang sama, ia juga memberikan peluang atau jalancara baru untuk golongan belia Malaysia merapatkan silaturahim dengan para belia Jepun. Sesungguhnya hubungan yang terjalin hasil bantuan pada masa mereka kesusahan kami harap akan menghasilkan talian yang utuh buat usaha jangkamasa panjang.

Mengejar Ilmu, Menyelami Budaya

Manfaat tambahan yang juga dikecapi oleh sukarelawan ke Ishinomaki, Jepun tersebut adalah ilmu dalam bidang penyelenggaraan sukarela serta baik-pulih bencana. Walau tempoh mereka ke sana hanyalah beberapa hari, ilmu yang ditimba dengan penyertaan dalam misi pertama ini sudah pun kami mula terapkan dalam rencana pembangunan organisasi MAYC Global Relief, termasuklah perancangan misi kedua kami ke sana yang dirancang untuk penghujung bulan April atau awal Mei tahun ini.

Selain itu, kebetulan kerja-kerja pemulihan ekonomi yang melibatkan sukarelawan mendedahkan mereka kepada pengalaman yang tak mungkin dialami di negara sendiri. Contohnya, sukarelawan di Ishinomaki telah ditugaskan untuk membantu masyarakat nelayan mempercepatkan process penyemaian tiram-tiram di pesisir pantai. Tugasan tersebut bukanlah ringan kerana cabaran fizikal, termasuklah menahan dari kesejukan yang tak lazim dirasai di Malaysia. Namun sukarelawan bersemangat hasil dari pengalaman baru yang dikecapi.

Sukarelawan juga dipupuk dengan budaya-kerja Jepun yang berdisiplin tanpa mengira tugasan mahupun jawatan. Menurut saudara Vimal, seorang sukarelawan beragama Hindu yang terlepas sambutan awal hari Deepavali akibat menyeratai misi tersebut,"Deepavali kita dapat raikan setiap tahun, tahun-tahun sebelum ini dan tahun-tahun kemudian pun dapat saya alami semula, tetapi pengalaman bersukarela ke Ishinomaki seperti ini mungkin sekali seumur hidup dapat peluang untuk dirasai."

Misi Kedua

Maklum-balas seperti ini dari para sukarelawan berserta dengan penghargaan yang kami terima dari rakan NGO Peace Boat telah memperkukuhkan azam kami di MAYC Global Relief untuk memberikan peluang kedua bagi para sukarelawan belia untuk menyertai usaha baik-pulih sekali lagi. Ini sebahagian dari rencana jangkamasa panjang MAYC Global Relief untuk membina organisasi yang menawarkan pengalaman bersukarela yang berlainan bagi golongan belia.

Menurut Ketua Misi Pertama, saudara Saiful Anuar Baig,"Sebagai sukarelawan, MAYC Global Relief menggunakan pendekatan berlainan yakni pergi membantu selepas keadaan bencana sudah reda, tetapi masih ada lagi keperluan bantuan tenaga-kerja belia untuk memulihkan kembali kawasan yang terjejas. Ini juga memberi peluang sukarelawan kami menimba ilmu dan pengalaman yang boleh dibawa pulang seperti proses mengkitar semula sisa bencana tsunami yang diamalkan di Jepun."

Seperti juga Misi Pertama, kejayaannya hanyalah boleh dicapai dengan bantuan para penaja koprat dari Malaysia seperti CIMB Islamic dan kumpulan Dynac bersama-sama organisasi-organisasi Jepun seperti Peace Boat serta Kumon. Adalah menjadi harapan kami untuk menjalin hubungan jangkamasa panjang juga dengan para penaja yang sedia-ada, mahupun yang baru, untuk terus menjayakan lagi program-program kami, bermula dengan Misi Kedua ke kawasan tsunami Jepun.

Segala usaha kami sebagai pemimpin belia adalah untuk membina jati-diri anak-anak muda yang merupakan masa depan negara. Walau tsunami amnya membinasakan, di Jepun kami harap pengalaman menyeratai kerja baik-pulih pasca tsunami ini melambung nilai kualiti dan taraf anak-anak muda kita ke tahap yang setanding dengan mana-mana kumpulan belia di peringkat global.

Macam Mana Nak Terbang Kalau Sayap Cacat

Dalam masa kehangatan pertandingan pemilihan UMNO 2008, Tan Sri Tunku Ahmad Rithaudeen telah mencadangkan agar sayap Pemuda dan Puteri UMNO dibubarkan kerana pada hemah beliau, kelemahan akibat rasuah pada UMNO berputik dari pertandingan jawatan kedua-dua sayap ini. Bidasan kembali yang sering jurublog dengari dari para perwakilan Pemuda pada masa itu adalah,"Kalau tak dak sayap, macam mana nak terbang?"

Alhamdulillah, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil bakal berundur dari jawatan Menteri sejurus tamat tempoh senator beliau. Namun saya rasa kecewa yang beliau merasakan ini suatu kompromi yang adil bagi membolehkannya kekal sebagai Ketua Wanita UMNO. Mana boleh macam ni. Kedudukan beliau sekarang begitu cacat sekali sebagai pemimpin yang sedia menggunakan pentas parti serta kerajaan untuk mempertahankan kecacatan moral suaminya dalam pengendalian amanah dana RM250 Juta NFC.

Datuk Seri Shahrizat, sebagai seorang pemimpin yang antara paling kanan dalam parti, seharusnya sedia mengorbankan nyawa politiknya demi masa depan parti, bukan mencari jalan untuk terus hidup di tampuk kuasa sementara sayap Wanita parti terus tercacat sama nama baiknya atas kehadiran beliau yang berterusan sebagai Ketua! Kesediaan beliau melakukan demikianlah baru akan memulihkan balik nama baiknya sendiri dan membantu memperbaiki kredibiliti parti UMNO serta BN menjelang PRU13.

Datuk Seri Shahrizat tak perlu menenung jauh. Lihat sahaja sayap Pemuda yang masih lagi dibebani seorang Ketua perasuah. Walaupun KJ dan para penyokongnya kelihatan begitu giat memulihkan namanya, namun pemantauan terkini yang diarahkan oleh beliau sendiri menunjukkan ahli-ahli Pemuda pun masih sangsi dan kemungkinan besar akan memilih tokoh lain untuk memilih Pemuda di masa hadapan. Walau KJ berkorban untuk menjadi contoh dengan menyertai Wataniah sekalipun, ditertawakan sebagai 'main askar'!

Apatah lagi rakyat luar yang hauskan bukti tegar kredibiliti UMNO dan Barisan Nasional untuk memunahkan rasuah dari perjalanan kerja kerajaan?

Datuk Seri Shahrizat patut berundur juga dari semua jawatan parti demi masa depan sayap Wanita dan juga nama baik keluarganya sendiri. Mungkin dengan pengunduran beliau, ia akan memberi iktibar kepada penyokong kuatnya KJ juga untuk mengundur diri. Kerana sesungguhnya, kalau ada sayap pun, kiranya cacat, bukan sedar tak boleh terbang, berat nak diusung sayap kesini-sana, dan kiranya melarat, berpenyakit sehingga ke badan parti pula. 

Why PRU13 Is Likelier After Hari Raya Haji Rather Than Before Puasa

Pakatan Rakyat is in a mess. Not only is the coallition still reeling from the 9 January court decision in favour of DS Anwar Ibrahim, scuttling their plans to politically 'martyr' Anwar and replace him with a 'new' leader to lead them to glory, but the component parties are themselves facing internal rifts, most recently afflicting PAS in Kedah.

One would think, and many do, with the government roll-out of populist plans hitting high gear and the uncertainties of the world economy potentialy hitting Malaysia hard in the second half of the year that PRU13 is drawing near. With the natural aversion of number 4 adopted form the Chinese, May and June are running neck-and-neck for favourite PRU13 month.

However, this blogger takes a different view. An analysis of Pakatan woes and recent government populism or even globe-trotting economic scenarios should not be the pre-occupation of DS Najib Tun Razak and his various advisors on this matter. For as PRU12 shows us, BN's electoral performance would depend far more on its own electability as opposed to any other externality.

And this problem for BN is, whilst far from intractible, is not nearly nearing resolution due to specific incidents, a tendency to dodge difficult, politically precarious decisions and continued excess in respecting form over substance.

This blogger could easily pluck examples related to the handling of the MAYC issue (still unresolved despite pronouncements to the contrary on RTM at the end of last year) or other youth related issues. However, this is not even the easiest of actions that DS Najib could take to correct public perception over BN's continued credibility to govern... not that I said CREDIBILITY not CAPABILITY which on the balance most would still agree they have.

The question most on the lips of the electorate today, after the 'when are the elections' question, is "When is Shahrizat getting sacked!?" The exclamation mark, red and larger fonts are not for simple text emphasis only, but more often than not, this is also a reflection of the emotion behind the question.

Imagine the scenario, whereby hundreds of millions of ringgit of the rakyat's money was handed over to the husband of a sitting minister to deliver a national program. Not so bad as this has been done before in other countries, with some outcry, that is typically quitenned down when the sitting minister's husband, or wife, ACTUALLY DELIVERS WHAT WAS INTENDED TO BENEFIT THE RAKYAT.

However, in this case, the husband not only FAILS in the delivery, of all things, cows, or at least the meat off cows to the market. The husband blames everyone for his failure but himself, and to compound matters, he is found to have been buying condos with the money instead! And to add, the husband HAS BEEN APPOINTING HIS CHILDREN TO THE COMPANY!

All is still fine with the minister at this point. She could condemn her husband, distance herself from the act, even focus on saving her children, but no... SHE DEFENDS HER HUSBAND'S ACTIONS?! On a national platform, the party's annual convention! Sorry, is this not morally compromising enough and sufficient grounds for Shahrizat to be sacked?! She isn't even an MP, so where is the risk, really, vs. the significant benefit of gaining credibility?

And to add icing to the cake, KJ has been supporting Shahrizat, making people ask the question, why? Is he on the take too? How? As of course KJ's credibility is so low that anything he does is seen with circumspection, typically accompanied with not small measure of derision!

Until DS Najib and his team get big decisions like sacking a minister that is clearly morally compromised in the public eye right, BN is better off putting of PRU13, unless of course he is happy with repeating Pak Lah's feat of gaining a simple majority win. But of course, only a 2/3 majority will satisfy all that BN has regained its credibility with the rakyat, rather than just being grudgingly lived with for its capability.

Discovering A Lighter (Cooler?) Side To A Leader In Muar

I just came back from Muar following a company Chinese New Year do that was held at an excellent venue called Oasis in Jorak, near Bukit Pasir (GO SOUTH!!!). For safety' sake and as giving my wife a rare overnight break from the kids is a great idea, whether she agrees or not, I talked my wife into staying on for the night after the event.

It turned out to be a great idea, not so much due to the limited shopping or sightseeing that could be done at 8pm when we came back to Muar from the event, and only partly from the extra sleep my wife enjoyed. What turned the trip from good to great was us being introduced to the famous Mee Bandung Abu Hanifah and what locals call 'cendol TPM'.

Each has a story, but as with any Malaysian stories involving food, the Mee Bandung, eaten with Satay, FOR BREAKFAST(!), OK, OK, maybe it was late enough for it to be brunch, was just plain GREAT! Check out the picture and validate why don't you! Look out anyone going to Muar! However the story related to me on the cendol by our area company rep was even better!

Cendol TPM is actually an unpretentious, anonymous, stall near the Mee Bandung place. The owner of the stall dishes out cendol efficiently but is famously equally sour-faced to all his customers. The owner gets away with this of course for the only reason Malaysians would tolerate a sourpuss cendol man, his cendol is GREAT, or so my wife would testify. I don't take cendol due to obesity...

Anyway, his attitude probably explains why there are no photos to verify local legends, that our TPM, TS Muhyiddin Yassin, loves this guy's cendol so much, that he would do a short stop by this roadside and sit on the bench slurping down cendol any time he gets to swing by Muar town! Or so our area rep swears to have witnessed himself.

Thought it worth sharing not just so more can try out the cendol, but lighter stories of our many storied leaders are cool to share, for many reasons... and it much cooler when it isn't 'manufactured' for TV etc.

Laksa Kaw Langkawi

My family is finishing up our pre-departure tea after a long weekend break in Langkawi. This is the second time we are enjoying the excellent Kuay Teow and of course famous Laksa that is Padang Matsirat's answer to Kuah's Laksa Penarak.

I actually enjoy eating here for another reason. This restaurant nicely showcases the evolution and growth of a family business that has remained practical and unpretentious despite its obvious success (from the steady traffic of clientele and the fact the Manager of Tun Dr M's Loaf happily recommended it).

From the pics which I hope uploads properly, you can see the point where the humble beginnings of a Laksa based restaurant with about 5 wooden table blossomed into a concern with more than double its capacity... ok ok, not sure whether it is the wooden tables that came later, but you can also see where the roof was extended.

It takes little imagination to see how this restaurant grew as Langkawi did and whilst I wish them continued success, I hope they maintain the atmosphere as it is. With the quality of food that complements all that is wprld class about Langkawi.

Laksa Kaw is in Padang Matsirat, near Langkawi Airport and can be easily found on the main road of the town across the road from the primary school.

Tuduhan Sabotaj Konvensyen Pakatan Rakyat Di Alor Star

Malam tadi, antara topik lucu yang diperbincangkan di kedai kopi sekitar Alor Star adalah Tweet YB Azmin Ali yg begitu berang menuduh sedikitnya kehadiran ke konvensyen Pakatan Rakyat kerana sabotaj UMNO!

Pakatan berharapkan stadium tertutup Alor Star Suka Menanti penuh ke kapasitinya yakni 2,000, memandangkan majlis Tun Dr M tahun lepas sampai melimpah kehadirannya keluar. Malah penganjur acara Tun telah merancang 'limpahan' kehadiran dengan teratur.

Malangnya, walaupun yang hadir ke konvensyen termasuk tokoh-tokoh Pakatan seperti DS Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang dan Hj Hadi Awang, namun ternyata mereka semua tidak semenarik Tun Dr M kerana yang hadir sekitar 500 orang sahaja!

Tapi, macam mana Azmin nak mengaku Tun Dr M lagi menarik dari 'tokoh-tokoh' Pakatan ni! Maka dengan tak semena-mena beliau menuduh UMNO sabotaj pula. Nak sabotaj camana? Apakah mungkin UMNO menghalang penyokong Pakatan dari hadir tambah pada hari cuti di negeri Kedah pimpinan PAS!?

Dulu bila Anwar terbukti salahguna kuasa hingga dipenjara, tuduh UMNO juga, takkanlah bila mahkamah terbukti bebas apabila melepaskan beliau dalam kes Saiful, Azmin dan yang sehaluan dengannya dah ketandusan modal?

Pada saya, lebih munasabah jika kita katakan kehadiran ke konvensyen kurang kerana:

1 - Malam tersebut malam sebelum hari keputeraan DYMM Yang Dipertuan Agong merangkap Sultan Kedah yang dikasihi. Tentulah ramai lagi sibuk dengan aktiviti serta persediaan meraikan hari tersebut.

2 - Malam tu, Kedah dok main bola sepak di Stadium Darul Aman. Yang mau ternyata melimpah ribuan manusia yang lebih minat bola dari konvensyen Pakatan.

3 - Mungkin orang PAS di Kedah meluat dan tak ingin melihat kepimpinan Pakatan dari Selangor yang telah menggasak hingga tokoh popular PAS Dr Hassan Ali dibuang dari parti... yang ni Azmin tak berani kut nak mengaku...

4 - Akibat Hari Keputeraan DYMM Tuanku, cuti panjanglah di Kedah. Mungkin orang Kedah merasakan ada cara lebih baik untuk menggunakan hari-hari cuti tersebut?

Ada baik YB Azmin Ali tarik nafas dan mencerminkan diri dahulu. Sebelum menuduh orang, ada baliknya Pakatan mengkaji apakah sebab sebenar kegagalan mereka dalam mengendalikan usaha ini, demi masa depan mereka.

Maaf lambat sikit berita ni, tengah sibuk di Motorcross MAYC Beruas sebentar tadi... tengok le gambar tu...

MAYC Global Relief... And MAYC: The Next Stage

I have been asked over the last 3 months why I have been quiet in the social media space on MAYC of late. Reason was simply that things were developing in the right direction, and it did not seem right to blog it in this space for the sake of our achieving the aims of reviving MAYC. I believe this blog's silence for the time helped us achieve the recognition of the rightful chairmen of the state organisations, Alhamdulillah, as the first step towards the revival of MAYC as a whole.

The Minister has given strict instructions to Mustafa Mat Arof when approving his leadership of MAYC to ensure unity especially ensuring the enfranchisement of all MAYC clubs in an AGM that will select a new leadership by March 2012. Seeing as Mustafa and many of his gang have expired their age as Youths, my team and I are happy to sit back and see him prove his claims of being a 'rightful' president by him actually being 'presidential', proving us wrong and at the same stroke reviving democracy in this most democratic of youth organisations at one time.

In the meantime, I will be busy with MAYC Global Relief. We are planning for a second relief expedition to Japan's tsunami hit areas in April 2012. Ya ya, I heard also that elections 'may be' in April, but why should this affect our plans? If we listened to the many elections 'may be' rumours since PRU12, we'd be caked with dust from immobility waiting for PRU13 now. So April 2012 we aim to send another 40 youth volunteers out to Japan and you can have a look at this Facebook page to see the stuff volunteers can expect to get up to. Our volunteers are made of better stuff than the fake 'hero' Adam Adli I dare say!

Will I run for MAYC's Presidency? Not my choice mate! Ask the MAYC leaders at club, district and state levels. Its for them to figure out if I am worthy. If they haven't figured this one out, they should just google...

Welcome Revival Of The Pain In The Arse

I was stunned over the last 2 days at how so many people are happy with the acquital of DS Anwar Ibrahim. The happy guys I mean here are not the pro-Anwar or sympathetic to Anwar lot. No no no... many of us, myself included, who are rather pleased that Anwar is still free are actually very much against him and his rather self-centric disruption of harmony in our country. OK, there is the matter of the appeal which I understand should come since the case was prima facie, but lets set that aside for now...

The reasons for this happiness vary, but for the more politically inclined, there is now a feeling that BN has a better chance at winning the next election, even if not achieving a 2/3 majority, as long as the current political lines are maintained and IF DS Najib's Transformation program actually begins to hit high level corruption. Notice the big IF on corruption here... certainly Malaysians want clearer resolution of the NFC scandal as opposed to the partial-scapegoating that is perceived to have happened / is happening with PKFZ.

Clearer Political Lines

Certainly BN will benefit from the lack of impetus now for DS Anwar and his people to back a re-alignment of political alliances that was planned should he have been imprisoned. It was an open secret in political circles that Ku Li and his camp were being courted as Anwar's replacement as figurehead of Pakatan should the later be convicted. The Amanah platform had sought to re-unite the old 'Team B' of the Tun Dr M vs Ku Li era of 1987 vintage, minus Pak Lah of course due to his continued lack of popularity.

There was clear movement to build ties with a couple of bloggers, most notably ferociously pro-Ku Li Aspan Alias' entry into DAP, which has resulted in quite a bit of confusion considering his ultra-UMNO credentials from the last century.

Would Ku Li as Pakatan head lead to a stronger Pakatan threat against DS Najib-led UMNO and BN? One will never know. This blogger actually believes it becomes 50:50 if the worse elements of UMNO, many associated with the Pak Lah regime and slowly being ostracised by the Najib Transformation (like KJ!), actually joining Pakatan with Ku Li. However, it would have the downside of confusing the electorate like mad, hence a disharmoniuos scenario leading up to an election - always poor for the incumbent party!

Ironically, PERKASA under Datuk Ibrahim Ali, i.e. the ultra-Malay elements in civil society, may end up holding the deciding votes in such a scenario, not the minority race power brokers! Most unpleasant I am sure to many...

Anyway, I am happy, and happy to hear if you are too, with DS Anwar's acquital! So happy that I am blogging again! Hihihihihi....

Wet Dream Of A Budget?

Did I catch your attention with the title of the post? Sorry, couldn't help myself ... hihihihi...

I begin writing this as DS Najib was outlining major increases to the renumeration or rather pay scheme for teachers, a much under-appreciated group within a much suffering public sector. The budget, including this part, appeals to me as even if it is not perfectly satisfying, I find many parts matching what I was hoping for for the country, such as:

1 - Introducing or in reality re-introducing mechanisms to curb property speculation which has led to houses being unaffordable especially for youths just starting with life. So we see the RCGT or Real Capital Gains Tax being revised again, the material component being a new setting of 10% for those who sell properties within 2 years of buying. I would have preferred something more extreme also for the initial 6 month window, but I suppose DS Najib needs to ensure the new tax doesn't deflate the property market.

2 - I wanted small changes to ease the cost faced by youths, especially those with young families, and am pleased to see sucj small changes such as abolishing the remainder fees for government school-going children.

3 - I am really pleased that the government is continuing their commitment to increase public sector pay, like for the teachers, and increasing the retirement age, as this will force the payscale up across the nation as the public sector remains employer of last resort for most new job-seeker. Inflationary my foot, we all need a salary adjustment!

4 - I am glad they are continuing to expand the Kedai 1Malaysia concept... though wonder what will ensure its future sustainability...

PS - Wow, budget give RM 320 Million to Youths or Belia, even mentioning it should be channeled via Majlis Belia Malaysia and its subsidiaries! Question is, will the Ministry deliver the monies through these Youth led organisations?

Namewee Feeling How It Is To Be Anti-Malay

There was a time in Malaysian socio-political history when there was a label worse than 'racist' for a public figure, that label being 'anti-Malay'. This may seem strange for the younger generation of today, but being anti-Malay as recently as in the early 80's was seen as being shallow, viscous, ignorant and a threat to harmonious relations between all races in Malaysia.

Well, Namewee may be unhappy at having his film rubbished by those who haven't even seen it, but he has to accept this as a reality rather than rant on it. The reality is that someone writting for an established Malay mainstream daily has rubbished his movie due to it simply being directed by him. Why? Because they perceive him to be racist and 'un-1Malaysian'. But truth be told, Namewee's image is worse, as to many Malays, he is anti-Malay.

Namewee has come a long way since the day he published the Negarakuku, a sign-post of how a segment of ethnic chinese-Malaysian youths were and still are developing in terms of socio-political consciousness. Negarakuku showcased a lack of respect and culture as well as a complete ignorance of history, leading up to a feeling of angst and anger towards the Malay-led establishment in Malaysia. It was an outpouring of anti-Malay feelings

Ironically, Namewee was saved of being disowned completely by the nation by the MCA, the Barisan National (BN) government's Chinese component party that is typically rejected by the kind of youths Namewee represents. Namewee and his like typically reject the MCA as being the lackeys of the dominant United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party in the BN coalition. Nevertheless, Namewee followed MCA's advice and apologised.

All Malaysians, generally having adopted the soft-hearted forgiving nature of Malays, chose to forgive, but did not forget. The tarnishing of national symbols, such as the national anthem, is not so easily forgotten. Strangely, or perhaps naturally, him being a media person, Namewee did not seem to want to be forgotten. Since being anti-Malay in the guise of ignorant honesty seemed to work before, Namewee caused further controversies over Youtube.

At the same time, Namewee worked hard to establish himself among the independent media elite of the country, cleverly leveraging on his notoriety and building on his 'simple' yet direct persona. These independents, having grown without too much government support, if at all, proved receptive to Namewee's entry to their circle, allowing him the opportunity to develop as a 'Malaysian' artiste separate from his racist of 'anti-Malay' persona on the web.

It is a shame that when confronted with Namewee's version of racist abuse, BN figures react with either the extremes of calling for his figurative head or embracing him with hope of making him 'understand'. Maybe these leaders are confused by Namewee's apologies for being ignorant and maybe accidentally sounding racist... but this is ridiculous of course! I believe Namewee knows exactly what he is doing - he admits to being a degree holding media man!

For me, Namewee has been a warning sign of there being a segment of disaffected chinese youths who reject the Malaysian Social Contract as they have been given little reason to respect it. However, that was before. Now, I see Namewee as a figure that is a danger to society as he has chosen to earn a living by being the embodiment of the anti-Malay in the public eye. And he dares do so as he believes he can always apologise to the soft-hearted.

Namewee's evolution to being a menace to society was re-affirmed to me when a senior MCA leader recently suggested to bloggers that Nasi Lemak 2.0, Namewee's film, is racist and anti-Malay. It would seem Namewee's former saviour, and despite its recent weaknesses, still the strongest champion of ethnic Chinese rights, the MCA, has disowned him, knowing him to be a danger to continued harmonious prosperity among Malaysians.

So Namewee. Grow up. Stop pretending. Don't even bother apologising. Accept that there are some of us Malaysians, not just Malays, have accepted the cultivated persona you have for what it is. You are a racist  and anti-Malay. Just be greatful the only thing we will (or rather won't) do is to your movie, which even without watching we are reassured is anti-Malay. Sit down and shut up you Racist Anti-Malay Icon.

Apabila Keikhlasan Perjuangan Orang Muda Disambut Kezaliman Yang Berkuasa

Pada waktu Maghrib, hari Jumaat, 23 September 2011, berlaku peristiwa hitam dalam sejarah pergerakkan belia dan hubungannya dengan pihak berkuasa. Seramai 20 ke 30 orang anggota polis telah menyerbu ke pejabat MAYC Kebangsaan di Wisma Belia untuk menangkap Setiausaha Agung MAYC, Ahmad Ansor Rivai Batubara kerana kononnya ceroboh berdasarkan kehadiran beliau di pejabat pada luar waktu pejabat.

Lebih mengecewakan lagi, tak puas mungkin kerana begitu ramai dikerah untuk menangkap seorang sahaja pemimpin belia, pihak polis juga mengambil keputusan untuk membawa juga ke balai, 3 orang pemimpin MAYC Wilayah Persekutuan yang kebetulan singgah sebentar ke pejabat untuk mengirimkan makanan untuk saudara Ansor, sekaligus menemani beliau makan. Alang-alang makan pun pemimpin belia boleh dicekup polis! HEBAT!

Tidak logik bila difikirkan bagaimana begitu ramai anggota polis, ada yang lengkap bersenjata api, boleh dihantar semata-mata untuk menangkap 4 pemimpin belia yang hanya sibuk makan di pejabat sendiri. Lebih hairan, anggota polis dipimpin oleh seorang pegawai yang begitu tinggi pangkatnya, ACP Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid, Ketua Polis DAERAH Brickfields! Malah pihak polis juga agak kabur tentang jenayah yang ditangani.

4 orang pemimpin belia ini, terdiri dari 3 orang lelaki dan seorang wanita, 3 Melayu dan seorang India, dibawa ke... bukan IPD, dibawa ke Balai Polis Brickfields saja untuk di 'soal-siasat'. Memandangkan 'Belia 4' ini tidak melakukan apa-apa kesalahan, difikirkan proses soal-siasat akan selesai sekelip mata, tetapi tidak! 3 orang Belia yang ditahan sementara makan, termasuklah yang wanita, dilepaskan hanya selepas 5-6 jam di balai!

Setidak-tidaknya, pemimpin MAYC Wilayah bertiga tersebut hanya berada di bilik temuramah selama sejam lebih seorang. Saudara Ansor pula, setelah masuk, tak keluar selain perlu dan kekal ditemuramah selama 6-7 jam tanpa henti! Ini bukan penyiasatan yang berhemah tetapi seakan-akan mendera. Sementara pemimpin belia wanita tersebut sesekali menalipon ke rumah menanyakan anak, apakah yang dicari-cari oleh polis yang menyiasat?

Rahsia di sebalik kejadian malam tersebut terbongkar apabila saudara Ansor dimaklumkan bahawa tekanan sedang diberikan kepada pegawai polis dari 'orang atas' untuk menahan beliau dan teman-teman. 'Orang atas' ini pula dibilang dari golongan pemimpin politik! Apabila ditanyakan siapa, ditunjukkan kepada Ansor yang Tuan Syed Rahman Tuan Kuning dan Zainal Fathodin, dua orang kuncu TS Syed Hamid Albar sedang cuba mengarah polis!

Sejak bilakah PDRM harus akur dengan arahan pemimpin politik, walau mantan menteri, apatah lagi kuncu-kuncunya, dalam menjalankan tugas? Tindakan polis menangkap serta melayan para pemimpin belia tersebut sebegitu rupa mungkin terlihat zalim, tetapi kezaliman tersebut menjadi-jadi bila kita difahamkan polis hanyalah senjata kekerasan yang digunakan untuk mengugut dan menakutkan pemimpin belia!

Pada hari Rabu lepas, 21 September 2011, kepimpinan MAYC yang diwakili saudara Ahmad Ansor Rivai Batubara telah memasuki pejabat MAYC Kebangsaan dengan niat menghidupkan kembali jentera yang seolah sudah reput sementara status MAYC Kebangsaan dalam pertikaian. Sdr Ansor berhak membuat demikian atas jawatan Setiausaha Agung MAYC Perak selain kedudukan beliau sebagai Setiausaha Agung Kebangsaan di bawah jurublog.

Usaha saudara Ansor telah disokong oleh para pemimpin Kelab Veteran MAYC Malaysia dan diransangkan lagi oleh nasihat seorang bekas Presiden MBM yang menegur dahulu yang organisasi belia adalah satu Pergerakkan. Oleh itu, syarat ia hidup adalah ia bergerak, bukan berpaut kepada undang-undang ataupun syarat. Kiranya belia BERGERAK maka ia hidup, tak kiralah pendapat mana-mana pihak berkuasa sekalipun.

Maka saudara Ansor BERGERAK untuk menghidupkan kembali pejabat MAYC Kebangsaan. Malangnya, sejurus beliau masuk pejabat, timbul penghalang berbentuk saudara Mustafa Mat Arof yang rupa-rupanya menghuni pejabat Presiden MAYC Kebangsaan pada masa itu. Mustafa tercabar apabila Ansor mengatakan beliau masuk pejabat untuk menghidupkannya, sekaligus menunjukkan betapa MAYC pejabat tersebut lesu walau Mustafa penghuninya.

Lebih buruk lagi, pihak polis telah dipanggil buat kali pertama pada siang itu juga! ACP Wan Bari pun hadir juga pada masa itu dan memutuskan kejadian yang dilaporkan bukanlah hasil jenayah, tetapi timbul kerana krisis dalaman. Namun, polis dipanggil lagi buat kali kedua pada siang 23 September 2011, sejurus sebelum sidang akhbar di mana saya menjelaskan niat kami mengambil alih Wisma Belia. Pada masa itu juga, tiada tindakan diambil.

Maka kenapakah perbezaan berlaku dengan kes malam 23 September 2011? Bagaimanakah ACP Wan Bari yang sebelum malam itu sudah pun memutuskan isu MAYC bukan isu jenayah tetapi krisis dalamam, boleh berubah fikiran sebegitu? Sahlah yang ada pengaruh politik yang memainkan peranan. Maka jenayah ada berlaku pada malam tersebut, tetapi jenayah tersebut bukanlah apa-apa yang dilakukan oleh 'Belia 4' yang ditangkap polis.

JENAYAH YANG BERLAKU ADALAH KEZALIMAN SALAH GUNA KUASA DAN PENGARUH OLEH SEORANG PEMIMPIN POLITIK MENGGUNAKAN KUASA POLIS UNTUK MENGUGUT SEKUMPULAN RAKYAT YANG TIDAK BERSALAH SELAIN MERUNSINGKAN RENCANANYA. JENAYAH ZALIM INI DILAKUKAN OLEH TAN SRI SYED HAMID SYED JAAFAR ALBAR PADA MALAM TERSEBUT KE ATAS 4 ORANG BELIA, TERMASUK SEORANG WANITA.

JENAYAH INI ADALAH YANG SAMA MENYEBABKAN DS ANWAR IBRAHIM DIPENJARAKAN SELAMA 6 TAHUN KERANA MENGUGUT UMMI HAFILDA, AZIZAN, DSB MENGGUNAKAN ANGGOTA POLIS.
